The Brandywine Commons Shopping Center is located directly on Concord Pike at Woodlawn Road in Wilmington, Delaware. It consists of a 266,000 square foot shopping center occupied by a national grocery store, specialty retailers, (such as Sports Authority): five national restaurants including TGI Friday, Red Lobster and Lone-Star Steakhouse. In addition this development includes 300 hotel rooms. Brandywine Commons is a joint venture development between Delle Donne & Associates, Inc. and the Woodlawn Trustees. The Woodlawn Trustees, Inc. is a 100 year old highly conservative, Quaker organization founded by William P. Bancroft in 1901 and controls approximately 2,000 acres of land linking Wilmington, Delaware with the Pennsylvania Turnpike, Woodlawn Trust has leased or sold land for commercial and residential ventures to use the income to buy land for preservation along Brandywine Creek. The late Mr. Bancroft had a strong interest in the preservation of open space for parks and well-planned residential developments. Being selected by Woodlawn Trustees as a joint-venture partner was a great honor bestowed upon Delle Donne & Associates, Inc.
